YOUTH SUMMER CAMPS 2018
All camps run 9-3 Monday - Friday. Our days consist of a two hour morning session on horse care and groundwork games focusing on each camps skill level with the horses, an hour lunch and craft or classroom session, and afternoons in the saddle learning riding skills based on the camp. This summer we will be introducing the a horsemanship skills achievement program to our different levels of camp! We have also incorporated a Leaders in Training and Youth Leader program open to campers that have attended camp and continue lessons throughout the school year and are of middle school age or older. All camps cost $350 for the week if registration and 50% deposit are received before May 29. A $50 late fee is charged for all registrations received after June 1! Refer a friend and receive a $50 discount on your campers week of camp!
Camps are limited to 6 participants, so reserve your spots now! Campers can bring their own horse, contact me to work out boarding details.
Campers should bring: Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Refillable Water Bottle, Bag Lunch, and Any Allergy Medicine.
Campers should wear: Cowboy Boots, Riding Boots, or other smooth sole boot with a heel, Helmet (we have helmets available for those who need), Hat for the sun, and Flip Flops a swim suit and towel for pool day.
This camp is for both English and Western riders with little or no experience. Campers ages 7-13 will enjoy horsemanship, ground games, and horse husbandry in the morning. Lunch and Craft/Activity mid day, and riding in the afternoon.
This camp is for both English and Western riders with some experience. Intermediate campers should be proficient at the trot/jog and ready to canter/lope if they are not already doing so.. Campers aged 7-14 will enjoy learning horsemanship skills and horse husbandry in the morning, lunch and craft/ classroom activity mid day, and riding in the afternoon. Campers will enjoy trail riding by the end of the week.
This camp is geared towards the serious lesson student. These riders will explore several different western disciplines like Competitive trail, reining maneuvers, western dressage, and ranch pleasure during the course of the week.. Some of our more advanced participants will be challenged with green horse development projects. Learn the art of jumping with a natural focus. This camp is for English riders. Campers must be able to ride independently at the canter, no jumping experience is required. Campers aged 9-16 will learn horsemanship ground games that improve their horses jumping confidence and focus on equitation on the flat in the morning. We break for lunch midday, then everybody's favorite jumping in the afternoon!
This camp is for riders with jumping experience looking to go to the next level. We study the three phases of Eventing: Stadium Jumping, where campers race the clock to clear the course with no faults; Cross Country Jumping, where campers complete a jump course through the fields, woods, and creek; and Dressage, where riders focus on controlling the horse. Betsy Rengifo (formerly Betsy Moles) is based at Wild at Heart Ranch in Canton, GA. She has been teaching, showing, and training horses for the past 20+ years. She offers both English and Western lessons for students as young as 5. She shares her philosophy of Natural Horsemanship with her adult students through weekend clinics and week long camps...
